Q4 2025 Cirrus Market Update

Hi Fellow Cirrus Owners, Pilots, and Friends,

As summer winds down and we prepare for the busiest season of the year in aircraft sales, it’s time for us to provide our quarterly snapshot of the Cirrus market and share a few timely observations.

The Market Remains Steady
Although inventory levels still appear relatively high, they have remained stable through the summer months, and are markedly reduced from the highs of last Spring.  Well-priced aircraft continue to move, particularly in the G6 Turbo segment, where roughly 25 units have closed per month over the last three months—a healthy pace considering that late summer is a traditionally slower time of year. With plentiful supply currently online, and 100% Bonus Depreciation on the table, we expect demand to surge in Q4.

Mind the Capacity Crunch
Every year, the rush of year-end tax-motivated buyers strains the aviation ecosystem. Financing companies, insurers, escrow agents, prebuy shops, and ferry pilots all reach their limits in Q4. This can create real frustration for buyers and sellers who are late to the party. At Aerista, we have the experience and relationships to help navigate this crunch. We’ve also staffed up to ensure both capacity and quality, but advance planning always pays off. If a year-end purchase is on your horizon, now is the time to get moving.

Avionics Modernization to Legacy Cirrus Aircraft
There is exciting news for owners of earlier-generation Cirrus aircraft. Garmin has announced the availability of Perspective+ upgrades for G3 and G5 Garmin Perspective airplanes. Meanwhile, Avidyne’s Vantage system has finally received certification for G1–G3 Avidyne Entegra aircraft.

These upgrades present the opportunity to significantly modernize legacy airplanes, and they raise some interesting market questions: Will the price gap between late G5 and early G6 aircraft narrow? What price premium will the market place on upgraded aircraft? If I spend the money on an upgrade, how much of my investment will I get back? Time will tell…and you can be sure Aerista will be keeping close track of the answers to these questions.

For starters, we’ve used AeristaMetrics to compare the average selling prices of late G5s (2015-16) vs early G6s (2017-18) to understand if the purchase price gap justifies spending $30k-$50k on a Perspective+ upgrade, versus buying a newer airplane with Perspective+ as original equipment. The results are mixed: our last six months of transaction data suggest that buying and upgrading an SR20 or SR22T could be a good move, but you’d likely be better off jumping straight to the G6 if you’re in the market for a naturally-aspirated SR22 with Perspective+.

At Aerista, we are working with our vendors and partners to arrange and finance these avionics upgrades as part of your airplane purchase. If you’re considering a Vantage or Perspective+ upgrade, we’d love to talk with you about it.

Looking Ahead
With stable inventory, robust closing activity, and year-end incentives in play, Q4 is shaping up to be a busy and opportunity-rich period for both buyers and sellers. The key is preparation: act early, price smartly, and lean on a team that knows how to keep transactions moving.

As always, we welcome your calls and questions.

Warm regards,
