We’ve all heard the philosophical query : if a tree falls in the forest with no one to hear it, does it make a sound? The answer, of course, depends on one’s definition of sound and is really an exercise in observation and perception.
But why in the world are we, Vision Jet brokers, sending you a letter about observation and perception?
The answer is that there is are challenges in the Vision Jet marketplace that sellers and buyers can’t observe until it’s too late and we want to educate you about it so that you are well prepared.
The popularity of the Vision Jet has created a type-rating training bottleneck for buyers of pre-owned SF50s. Cirrus reserves type training slots for new Vision Jet buyers about six months in advance. Of course, pre-owned Vision Jet buyers do not have the luxury of planning that far in advance. As a result, they can find themselves waiting months for access to Cirrus Factory type-training. The phrase “time kills deals” exists for a reason; this delay in access to training puts pre-owned SF50 transactions at risk because buyers won’t enter a contract for an SF50 if they must wait months for their type-training.
